Country Shelf
Here's a beautiful country-style shelf that would look terrific in your front hall or by your back door.
There are six handy pegs for hanging coats and hats, as well as a built-in "glove box" to keep some of the messy stuff out of sight. Or you have the option to leave off the door, and use the open "box" as another shelf.
A very strong "cleat" hanging system insures that even the heaviest coats can't pull this shelf off the wall.
CONSTRUCTION. We built our Country Shelf out of solid 3/4"-thick red oak. You might also build this shelf out of pine and then paint it.
Overall dimensions: 39" long x 9" deep x 16" high
