Making the long splines that span rails and stiles along the top and bottom edges of the frames are best made in pairs like you see in these drawings.
Start with an oversized blank for making two of the splines. After laying them out as shown, drill two holes to define the radius of the inside curve (detail ‘a’). Then cut the splines to size at the band saw. To create a look similar to the plugs, use sandpaper to ease the edges of the splines.
