A tape measure can be an elusive tool in the shop. It always seems I’m laying mine down somewhere and then I can’t find it. I solved the problem by making a storage bracket.
It won't take you long to make this bracket. I used a strip of aluminum and a couple spacer blocks, like you see here.
I attached mine to the underside of my workbench. But you could mount this to a wall just as easily. Now I know my tape measure will always be within easy reach.
