Steve French of Lakeland, Florida likes to release the tension from his band saw blade when not in use for long periods. In order to remember to tension the blade, he places a stop sign-shaped piece of plywood on the saw table as a reminder.

To keep from marring the surfaces of delicate materials, Serge Duclos of Delson, Quebec covers the faces of his vise jaws with sections of pipe insulation. The pieces are pre-slit and slip right over the jaws for quick installation.
