On this episode, John, Logan, and Phil share ultimate or "bucket list" projects that they would want to build as a way to prove their woodworking skills or add something to their homes.
Of course, the discussion easily sidetracks into tools and even techniques that would get someone closer to the goals.
What are some bucket list projects you have on your list? Are they practical enough to fit in your home right now? What tools would you want to make? What skills would you like to acquire in your growth as a woodworker?
Phil's dream project is a large dining room serving piece, like a Country-style hutch.
This week, he's working on a set of crooked carving knives. Chris Fitch made the blades and they need to be sharpened. Phil remembered his cordless Dremel tool and used that to sharpen the bevels.
John would like to build a router mortising machine to make his workshop legit.
Or this folding workbench, we call Shoptimus Prime.
Logan would like to make a tall case clock — grandfather clock. He just needs to find the right design. Maybe Greene & Greene style.
His recent project is turning some hickory bowl blanks from trees downed in Iowa's August derecho — yeah. That's our weather word for the year.
