Workbenches generate a lot of insterest and discussion among woodworkers. For some a bench is just a place to set tools or plans while the construction happens elsewhere. Other woodworkers spend most of the time at a workbench.
Both Phil and Logan built workbenches years ago to support their craft. They work just fine, but as they've grown and learned, a new bench seems to be in order.
So using the new year as a marker for making some changes, each one will build a bench that better reflects how they work.
In a wide ranging discussion, John, Logan, and Phil talk about what their current bench, what works, what doesn't, materials, vises, and more.
Phil is going to build a version of the Cabinet-Base Workbench from ShopNotes magazine. You can follow his progress here and on the Woodsmith YouTube channel.
