Logan has been out sawing again. And recently it's been a lot of white oak logs. He's grown fond of the wood — both in the sawing and in the projects made from it.
Speaking of white oak, John designed two projects to round out a suite of Craftsman-styled bedroom furniture. It started with a Stickley reproduction (sorta) "gentleman's dresser." He expanded it to a bed, nightstand and now a smaller dresser and mirror frame. He talks about the process of working within a style to create new pieces.
Logan, John, and Phil enjoy learning more about the forest, how it functions, and how people interact with it.
Two books discussed on the show are The Hidden Life of Trees and Oak: The Frame of Civilization.
Logan also showed off his recently acquired British infill plane. Very sweet.
