Both the hinges and knobs are in the “dark antique” finish. The box was stained with Varathane’s “Gunstock.” It was then sprayed with two coats of satin lacquer.

All the metal and hardware for the weathervane was purchased from McMaster-Carr. The arrow was painted with Benjamin Moore’s “Witching hour” and “Anchor Grey”. The Moon is “Templeton Grey” and the ball is “Million Dollar Red”.
