Whenever I’m in the middle of a project, it seems I’m always fishing around for one of my rulers. So I made a home for them right on the side of my bench. This is a simple block of wood that I fashioned to fit my two most-used rulers. A deep groove cut with a thin-kerf blade cradles them. A cutout in the center lets me select whichever ruler I need. And a rare-earth magnet grabs and holds the two rulers in place when I’m not using them.
