I've never met a woodworker yet who had too much space in their shop. Maybe that explains why we’re always looking for ways to use the space that is available as efficiently as possible. I give it a whirl with this tool station that only takes up nine square feet, can be tucked in to the corner of your workshop, and can facilitate several benchtop tools and lots of storage for accessories.
The heart of the work center is a large circular platform that spins on roller bearings and rotates around a piece of conduit the runs through the base cabinet. Mounting your benchtop tools to this platform provides quick access to each tool while keeping the others close at hand. Besides the convenient tool access, there’s also plenty of storage. Directly under each tool is a drawer for storing accessories. And a rotating turntable in the base provides storage for a number of portable power tools as well.
